New works from 2007. Mostly doing oils these days, taking what I've gathered from last years oil pastels and moving into new work.
I've been told so many times by people looking at my oil pastels, to do it larger and in paint. It's not that simple, each medium and scale has it's own properties.
What makes the small oil pastels catch a flake of the right color is impossible to catch at 10 times the scale with a different medium and surface. Not to mention it's not 10 times the surface
area, but 100 times. It takes alot of time. But after a year or so
of moving back to oils, I think I'm finally getting much of the same feelings.

This is a 16"x20" gouache on masonite that was done in 2005 but never photographed. I have hundreds
of paintings that I haven't gotten around to photographing although not many of real Interest.
This one was never signed or photographed because I though it had potential but couldn't quite tie it together.
Not a great work by any means but it is a rare surviving example of the style I was working on several years ago and
will probably never replicate.
