Early Expressionist Charcoal drawings 1995-1996.
These are all charcoal drawings done in the mid 1990's. They represent a difficult time in my work, I suffered from depression and leaned towards
darker colors, sometimes simply black and white. I used brown crate paper, rather than charcoal paper to further emphasize this feeling of gloom.
I was very interested in the works of the german expressionists, particularly Edward Munch, but I feel this selection transcends
any obvious correlation, and is unique in it's overwhelming emotional outpouring.
